Tornado

Yesterday started simply enough.  i got up and drove an hour and a half to drop my son off with my mom for spring break.  On the way home i started hearing that there were terrible storms headed our way (we live in NC).  i hurried home, and got there just as the rain was starting.  Glued to the tv, Master and i watched as the storms created tornado after tornado.  Then the hail started.  And not the little pea sized hail i have seen before.  This was fist sized.  We stood on the front porch watching foe a bit then went back inside.  i was scared to death.  i was sitting on the floor between Master’s legs with Him on the couch, as usual.  i was getting more and more scared, which was annoying Him.  He went out onto the porch to get some air as the hail stopped.  i was still watching the weather alert and they said “Just because the hail stops, don’t think you are out of the woods.  It actually may mean the tornado is on the way.  This just in residents of (our town) take immediate shelter.  There is an active tornado on the ground.” Right then, the power went out.  I went out to tell Master, only to see a tornado coming from behind our house, between ours and the neighbors.  Master said, “Inside, now!” i ran in, tripping on a loose brick on the porch.  i fell and landed on my back.  Master helped me up and we ran into the hallway.  We waited until the noise went away and went out to look around.  The tree in our yard was on top of the neighbor’s Jeep.  The whole town was without power.  Several houses, including one less than a block away were destroyed.  People, including children, were dead.  Over 100 were hurt.  Including me.  i went to the ER this morning, i cracked a rib when i fell, but i am lucky.  my kids were somewhere safe, my home is intact, and i will be fine.  But others won’t be.  Please pray for the victims and survivors in North Carolina.  They need it.

  1. I am so glad that your kids are safe and you and your Master came out mostly okay. *broken rib eeps* Our prayers go out to the others in your town…what a horrible line of storms.

  2. God bless you, your family and all those who have suffered during this tragedy. It seem lately that every time we turn around there is another weather-related tragedy causing a state of emergency. Take care of yourself, I will be praying for you and the storm victims. 🙂
